Thanks to all you guys here I had the nerve to apply for a citi card.

yesterday I got a letter saying that I got approved and that a card was on the way.

Today a spanking new card came in the mail.

It's a Silver AAdvantage mileage card with $50 dollar annual fee and a 16.65 apr.

The credit and cash limit is a whopping $10.000!!!

I am going to call in next week to convert it to a platimum card.

thanks you all for the great post about citibank, I would not have tried to apply without reading the post.

Funny thing is that they pulled my transunion twice for this card. It was not instant and my score was only 548.

All there is left to do is transfer my high interest rate loans and cc over this this new account. And of course apply for another citi card and hope for the best.

Congrats Leo, Citi is spreading the wealth again LOL. Let's hope they continue:)

Don't forget when upgrading to Platinum, ask for a rate reduction:)

Momof3, I will surely ask for a upgrade to platinum, I also applied for another citi card lol. ( greedy me ) If I get that one I'll combine the both of them hahahahah.

I can now get rid of all my blood sucking credit cards. mahahhahaha .....

I also think citibank is spreading the wealth around, I have overextended credit with a very high credit ratio. My transunion report has 10+ inquiries the past 12 months. And like I said my score was only 548 or something like that.

The only thing I could have working for me is that I don't have any lates or delinquencies of any sorts. But I am definately not a "prime" person.

And I will only use this account for balance transfers.. I want to pay off most of my debt by the end of next year and then get a nice townhouse in staten island NYC.... that is my next big goal.

thanks all, I feel like " the king of the world" lol ......

I never had any negative info on my report. I do however carry high balances on my cards. Very high lol. And I have about 10+ inquiries on my TU report, that is the report that citi pulled on me.

    Other cards I have are:

    amex gold card since 1998
    mbna $1500 at 18.99apr
    nextcard $4700 at 10.89 apr
    getsmart $2250 at 16.9apr

    Bestbuy $3000
MBNA compaq line of credit $4000 24.99apr
MBNA gateway line of credit $2500 24.99apr
    MACY's $2000 23.99apr
    IKEA $2500 18.99 apr
Car loan with 3700 left to pay at 24.99 apr

All account are nearly maxed out exept for the bestbuy account.

The last 6 months I have been paying off my accounts off at a aggressive rate. I have been able to pay off quite a lot, but as you can see those high apr is making paying everythinf off quite hard.

But now with this $10.000 citicard I can transfer all those high interest accounts. I will be able to put most of my payment towards paying down the principal instead of paying for the high interest.

I think I have taken a great step towards the right direction.

Wow!! you got ripped off on the car loan. I have tax liens and had an unpaid judgment showing when I got my car at 15%.

Congratulations, Leo. You give hope to anyone who's overextended and wondering what to do next.

I'm really impressed, especially with the huge limit. If you think about it, the $50 annual fee is 1/2 percent of your limit, and of course a successful transfer to Platinum Select eliminates the fee entirely.

Breeze, yes I did get ripped off on the car loan. But at that time I needed a car and my credit wasn't all that.

richguy, Yes I am going upgrade to a platinum and try to get better terms. Will keep you all updated.

I hope that with this turn of events I will be able to advance to the next credit level. (prime)

Put the car balance on your credit card. Ask for special BT deal, tell them what you want to do.
