I just recently received BofA Gold pre approved online and got a $1000 limit? my scores are in the 700's? WTF is with the toy card limit?
You probably have lots of credit available. Just a guess on my part - B of A seems to favor people who do not have a lot of open credit lines. My Mom got their platinum $5,000 card, with only 1 other active tradeline showing on the report they pulled. I was offered their secured card - my score was higher than hers and my credit history was longer, but I had 7 other trade lines open and mostly unused at the time.
They have very low limits, if you WON'T BT... You can always "over-pay" a card with a BT and get a check refund in the mail...
No telling. Call them and ask for more ...tell them you wanted the card for something specific - like travel or a special event - a vacation or wedding. If that doesn't work, just try using the card, carry a little bit of a balance, make big payments, and see if you can get it increased by 6 months. You can work your way up if your a good customer.
I got approved for the US Airways Dividend Miles Platinum card and $6k limit a few weeks ago. I think breeze may be right because the only other accounts I had open was a providian with a $300 limit and target with $200. This is my first good card. They pulled TU and my score was around 730
My BOA Platinum @ $15,000, 7 yrs history. Was a secured card at $500 for 4 yrs until april of 00. You can call them and ask for an increase, thats what I did. But, every time they will pulled an inquiry subject to approval. Herman
