Do you mean a returned check fee? If the check written to them came back for insufficient funds and was not an error on the bank's part their answer to removing it will probably be no. Credit card companies (as with most businesses) take bounced checks very seriously. I would call up and apologize profusely and hopefully, they won't increase the interest rate. Dani
Did you actually write them a bad check? That's a great big no no. You will never get the high limits you want if you are doing things like that. All you will get is trouble.
If you wrote a bad check, then I would be more concerned with keeping the card and then not having a sky high interest rate. Lenders see a bad check as a big fat risk, and rightfully so. I'm not passing judgment on you (I've written my share of bad checks - but not to CC companies) but just warning.
I feel they missed up I call and ask what was my limit they told me 460, so I vwrote a check for 439 . I am just gonna have to call and fight.
I was thinking that, no more pushing the limit oh in the long maybe I save some money I don't have to pay apr on a 439 check just the 29 fee. I learn my lesson well no more cuting close!!!!
Oooooh I see what happened. Don't ever use those checks they send you!!! They are way too expensive. Just call and charge whatever bill it is you want to pay to the credit card. No fees. You can't say you didn't know - the disclosure is right there on the paper that comes with the checks. Just remember, never use those checks they send you.
NO FEE...was true, not any longer, unless you get a special PROMO (VERY RARE)... Years ago I used to get SOME checks with fees, some with-out fees...ALWAYS IF YOU CALLED ON THE PHONE, THEY WERE FREE TB'S...NOT any longer.
What I was saying, is, if you need to, say, pay your light bill - instead of using the check the CCC sent, call the electric company and tell them you want to charge the light bill to the credit card. That way you do not incur the fee for using the checks.
