    Ok,
I have all three of my CR's, so now do I start disputing like crazy? I have decided to do the online route, although I have already sent in a hard letter to EQX.
I am trying desperately to clean off my report and my DH's report in order to qualify for a decent mortgage rate. We went in (Stupidly) thinking our credit was okay and we make a good income and the mortgage rate was around 10.9% and higer, OOHHFF!

I am ready to get this stuff off but do I start out slowly or should I go in guns a'blazin with the disputing?

Slowly. You sound pretty new to this. It's great that you are very motivated, now you need to get the facts straight and be prepared (the time-consuming bit)

Read the FAQ and other helpful newbie posts on this board.

You have 90 days from the date of the report to dispute anything.

Thanks, I have been reading this board night and day and have learned a lot. DH and I disputed things on our report in late 2001 and early 2002 and had some success.
After re-pulling our reports, it appears that we have a lot of work to do.
If anyone has anymore suggestions, please let me know.

    Gratefully,
    Della

Check our E Loan for a mortgage. They will give you an idea of a rate with your current credit. It's free and easy to use.

Della, you might want to post in different threads what some of the rpt problems are. Some w/ similiar experience might offer some suggestions and maybe help you find the best way to deal w/ various issues.

Most of us start off by disputing old/outdated names and addresses.

When you get rid of them and they are tied to old debts, sometimes the debts go away.

Other times it makes it difficult to "verify" if the old name or address isn't there.
