I got the notice regarding the civil case citation, i am being sued left on door today. As i stated before collections agreed to drop it if i paid. On here it states i have till monday before 10 am and ten days after you were served with citation to state sometime written answer? Can anyone tell what does this mean? I am going to pay this bank on tuesday, does this mean i have to appear in court already? i live in texas what is the law on this? If you need more info on this go to topic being sued. thanks alot.
I'll see if I can find the TX statute on the length of time you have to answer. It is something like the first Monday after 10 days after being served, but not for certain. I read through the other thread, and have a few suggestions. Make absolutely sure you get something in writing that you paid in full when you go to the bank. You also want to follow up on the suit. Check with the bank and with the courthouse to make absolutely sure the suit has been withdrawn and completely dismissed. You don't want to have a default judgment on top of paying, because you did not answer correctly.
