Still a newbie here. I sent a validation letter to arrow financial, they sent me back via regular mail a copy of the signed application. (this is a credit card) Does this constitute proper validation. If not what is the next step if so what now???. Thanks mburris
I'm new to the validation route too, but I'd say it's a good start. The signed application is key, but I would ask for statements too. They have proven that the account is yours, but what about the amount? Of course, I've just sent my first validation letter, so hopefully someone with more experience can add to this.
I agree and disagree. I disagree that they have proven it is his acct. All they have shown is that he applied. Nothing else. I agree that they need to send proof of the amount they allege is owed and how they came up with this amount. You need to send out an estoppel and advise them they have proven zilch. Further advise you want any derogatory info on your reports removed within 15 days since they obviously have no proof of their claim.
1*The the signed application proves nothing. Even a signed contract doesn't prove anything is owed. 2* That is what the complete account history is for. It will prove what's owed but only it there are no errors in it and no billing errors ever occurred.
