Gotta love Equifax...

I sent in a CRR letter to the local Equifax branch here in town on Tuesday disputing some inquiries. I got the green card and the response today. They say they verified that the companies had "permissable purpose" and that they did not have to provide me with a signature.

Funny thing is, 8 of the inquries have "by mail only" for a contact. Now how the hell did they verify that? Do I have any recourse to this?

Where does it state "by mail only"? In reviewing my Equifax report, I found nothing of the sort.

Every entry on a credit report has contact information for the company. If it's not included in the entry, then it can be found at the end of the report.

a bunch of mine say by mail only. I think that info is contact information for the consumer to contact the company and that the CRA's have different contact info. But that is just a hunch.
