Can anyone tell me if Federal Student loans get reported to each CB? I may be getting a unsubsidized Stafford soon. Does a loan of this type help a score in the front (Like CC do sometimes) or only after it has been paid on for a while? thanks Diane143

    Hi,

I too had unsubsidized stafford loans.

The ones I am paying on are reporting on Experian and Transunion.

The one loan I paid off is on Equifax.

Throughout my credit problems, I always kept paying on my student loans.

I am now glad I did, because they are horrible to deal with if you default ;-(

It is a score booster for me because it was my first tradeline and the oldest.

    Hope this helps....

Thanks that helped a lot. I am hoping they will report to all three but I will take anything. What a deal! Low rates, no credit check. I will always pay on time for sure. I heard student loans have no SOL for collections!!!

I have a consolidation loan from Southwest Student Services that only reports to TU and Equifax.
