I have a Government (military) issued travel card (Visa) by BoA. I have been using it for 4 years with no late payments however I just noticed that it wasn't in my credit report. For the sake of building my credit (raising my dismal low score) does anyone know if I can have this included on my credit report? from what i understand if you are ever late or misuse your credit card BoA will report it so why not reward people that use it properly by reporting good things.... thanks.
From what I understand, there will never be a tradeline on your personal credit report from this card. The only thing that goes on your credit report is an inquiry when you first apply for the card and that is only supposed to stay on your report for 6 months. They will report you delinquent if you are over 120 days late on your payments. I also think the program is unfair in that they can, and will, report on your credit report if you are late but NEVER give you credit for paying on time. As an 18 year military (civilian) fed employee it sure would be nice to get some good things on my credit report for a change!
I have had a Gov't IMPAC card for several years, and it doesn't report. I couldn't tell you if they pulled any inquiries when they issued it. Gib
