Looks like wireless phone may go public. I will fight it tooth and nail. Because of my FICO, I have a prepaid wireless phone and upload money upfront to use it. The last thing I need is random phone solicitiations. Plus, looks like I would have to pay a fee to be excluded from a public directory. However, looks like my carrier - Verizon - it not going to publish names . . . for now anyway. http://www.bcentral.com/articles/isyn/default.asp?newsid=200431810&cobrand=msn&LID=3800
Very interesting article. It's not a big issue for me to have my number with directory assistance. I know I have misplaced a number and had no resources to get it other than wait for the person to call me. However, I definitely can see many customers being upset over their lack of privacy. We should have the right to add our number if we wish. I figured this would happen. That's why I added my landline and cell numbers to the National Do Not Call List.
