You stated your debt was from 91 and not on your reports and then you were contacted about the debt. I was wondering when this happened and if you applied for any loans and such?? I am being told that this is why I am hearing from them now. Just wondering if they came out of the blue for you, and you stated they never put it on your reports, however did they start making these hard inquiries, did this occur right after their initial contact?
RE: Greg, quesiton about old d I think the timing may be also coincidential. This scumbag collection agencies buy the debt and put it on your report. But they may have had an old address or phone # and couldnot contact you. When you applied for a loan they could have ran a check on your file and got your address and # and started bothering you. That is my experience. For me old cable bill. I started disputing accounts with equifax, and the equifax collection agency contacted me about the money owed, before it reached my credit report. cool. That is how they got my new address.
RE: Greg, quesiton about old d Check the statute-of-limitations (SOL) for collection of such a debt in your state. These people will lie to you! The following site has a SOL database: http://www.creditinfocenter.com/rebuild/statuteLimitations.shtml Alwilda- Momof3 wrote: ------------------------------- You stated your debt was from 91 and not on your reports and then you were contacted about the debt.
