my credit reports are just fine and dandy until i pull my PG report and on TU a BofA account (closed 8/98) is now showing the payment history of 120 days past due as of 2/98! Never had a late pay on that account in my life. how the f*ck can a payment history change on a closed account. so i went to TU and pulled a report and sure enough - BAM! 120 past due! i disputed online and basically said that if it is still there tomorrow - i will file suit against them. my Fako score went up to 769 (8 points) so i dont think its hurting my score. anything like this happen to anyone else?
I have an account with ford that reports automatically, each month even though the account has been closed for years, Some months it changes my address, some it changes my birthday and each month the status changes, sometimes PAA and sometimes CO or 120 late. I have printed the reports each month showing what happens and TU and EFX are always quick to fix them but enough is enough. I sent a letter to ford and when they pulled a soft to look everything had been fixed so I now have to wait until tomorrow and send them the report that they messed up today. I think GRRRR is a little to weak of a response....dirty words are in order..
i didn't want to offend anyone with blatant cussing. normally it wouldn't be a big deal, but we are going car shopping this weekend and will probably be getting financing through chrysler which just so happens to pull TU i am finding out (what are the freakin odds!!!!) how much did it affect your FICO when it was reporting as CO or 120 days?
I am going to buy a new car tomorrow also, My score dropped from 684 yesterday to a 648 today. a big drop but I do not know if it will affect my auto enhanced score,I'm sure it will since it was a car loan and the CRAs wont fix this until monday. I do not want to miss this deal(its a used car) at a very good price. I will just bite the bullet if I need to . Do you know who is good to refinance a car with, ford and mazda do not refinance so I will probably need to refinance both of my cars soon. the mazda is at 11.1% and I really do not know what will happen tomorrow with my score going down like this.
i totally recommend credit unions for financing or refinancing. right now, you can buy or refinance a used car at my credit union for 4.99% up to 72 months. i'm going to take the financing from the dealer for right now and then in a few months i will refi at a lower rate (unless i get a good rate right away). its easier to do it that way instead of going to the dealership then going to your bank and then BACK to the dealership.
I guess I need to join the credit union, I have my accounts at USAA and they are pretty good for checking, savings and online bill pay but I am not sure what they will do for financing, I hear they are pretty tough. I am changing my insurance over to then when its time to renew as they offer a rebate for no claims, up to about 20% so they should save me some money there. Can you recommend a good credit union?
check the phone book for ones in your area. you need to "qualify" by either working for a certain company or living in a certain county. i like having my bank in my community. the people who work there are usually from the community, so that makes me feel better when doing business with them.
There is one credit union I know that you can become member of, through being a member of a non-profit organization that anybody in the US can join. Annual membership is $50 in the latter organization. You can cancel after the first year, without losing your credit union membership. Think of the $50 as an entry fee into the credit union Interested? Email me ... email is always on. I may not respond immediately, but definitely will reply to every Email.
