I just checked my TU report today...it's not showing an item I disputed online as under investigation. I have the same problem w/ a dispute I sent to a CA-not showing on Experian or TU. I disputed these on 8/12...if they still don't mark the items as "in dispute" within the 30 days, is it a violation?
TU never shows the tradelines as in dispute. Apparently their software is too outdated to handle it and yes, it is a violation.
If they don't mark the items in dispute during the 30 days... it's a violation. but remember, under the fcra def of "file" it's not your copy it's only the copies lenders see... so to use this one you'd likely need to have someone other than yourself see it... apply at a local strict bank and get denied. have the bank officer give you a letter stating nothing was in dispute at the time (call Tu first and make sure the items are supposed to be in dispute right then...) tell them you can't see them and get the reps name and number... supervisor too if you can... then you have a good chronology and proof of the violation. How they're a national bureau... well... most people just take it and don't even know the fcra and when they do and spot violations... well.. they don't sue so why should Tu bother complying on a large scale? there isn't a business reason to... yet...
