Hello yet again: Well, I'm about to friggin give up! Got my updated TU yesterday, and again my score drops. This report is, unfortunately, the most widely used in both MO and IL. Yes, that's right, my score has plummetted from 531 to 504! Woohooooooo 400 club here I come! Now, both my Ex and Eq are FINALLY in the 600's (like that's gonna help me if nobody pulls the friggin things!) but the TU is going to be the death of me. TU doesn't have SOME of my old collection accounts being reported by EQ and EX, however, it does have one (a collection record from Homire & Wilkes, a law firm that obtained the judgement against me for their client, Quality Furniture). So, on TU, I've got a judgement for $3k, and ALSO a collection account for 3K. I'm told that it's perfectly legal for them to do so. Fine. The thing that's angering me the most is that it was my understanding that the "Original Date of Delinquency" HAD to be the date that I FIRST went delinquent (with their CLIENT), NOT the date that THEY received the account for collections. According to their collections guy, no way no how is that date changing. So, I've got the extra $3k in negative collections (paid, big friggin deal) for the next THREE YEARS instead of next year. Anyway, I'm at wits end. I feel pretty confident that, despite any of my efforts, I'll be down in that negative 2% that is between 150-200 on the TU report by year's end. What's really bad is that I really really really wanted to get a new car later this year, but doubt I'll get bought for anything less than "sub-sub-sub-you'reasupercreditrisksoI'llgougeyou-sub-prime" interest rate. My loss is someone's gain A. J. I see the light... zzzzzzzzzzztttttttttttt
How are you getting your credit score from Tranunion? I am having problems with collectors not reporting correctly or flat out lying about a debt. Have you tried filing a complaint with the Attorney General? Do you have documentation to show the date of delinquency and if so have you provided it to the CRA's along with a copy of the FTC opinion letter? Do this with the letter stating you will proceed with legal action if they do not follow the law? If the CRA doesn't handle properly include a complaint against the CRA with the Attorney General. I did this on a debt that was being reported with the wrong delinquency and it was removed quickly. You just have to show a paper trail of violations and proof. I found the Attorney Generals office to be very much on my side since they constantly handle complaints on credit collectors. They like them less than you do. Build a paper trail and do not be afraid to file in small claims when you have your i's dotted and t's crossed. No reason to get upset and feel your at a dead end. Just document everything, file a compaint with the Attorney General and then go into court with all your proof and you will be amazed how quickly they SUDDENLY will comply with the FCRA and FDCPA. They want you to give up and thats why they give you the runaround. Once they see you mean business their attitudes will change.
Look, don't panic...I started with TU at 552 I believe..then it went to low 500s and then finally 479. I was like screw this. I just don't want to do this anymore. I went ahead and did it one more time and guess what - 766. We'll see what happens when my FCNB hits. So be patient and persistent.
