Re: looking towards credit unions The offers have been getting better for me. I've had my cap 1 gold visa since 2/01. For the 1st year I got 0 offers. When my card hit the 1 year mark, the offers started. In March, they sent me a preapproval for the gold kmart mc. I tossed it. In April, it was for the plat kmart mc with cl of $500 - $4500 with 0% apr for 6 months and the go to of 14.9. I tossed that one also. In May I got the same offer for the plat, except the cl is now up to $6000. They must see my new cards posting on my reports now with the higher loc. I have until Friday to apply. The only thing holding me back, is that I'd like a regular plat with cap 1 so I can combine the 2. From what I've read here, you can't combine the kmart cards with any other.
Re: looking towards credit unions I also suggest you to mail the Kmart Cap1 application. As matter as fact you only have to write your SS#, Tel and sign it. No questions about employment or salary. It really looks like a real preapproved application!.
taking LKH advice You are right ! I am going to take your advice, LKH, and quit making the damned thing so complicated. It's just a CC for gosh sakes, not deciding whether or not to get into a long term romance and having more children I don't think I can much go wrong with proceeding with the app. I am going to pursue getting a membership in a local CU, as well, though. Think that will be good move for possible auto loan down the road. I'm going to call to accept the KMart Platin in the AM. Thanks to you and MindCrime both for your input!
