Just got my report from TU following my online disputes. Here's the results... Disputed 10 Hard Inquiries Result: All 10 deleted!!!! Disputed 3 tradelines (1 not mine and 2 AU accounts) Result: 1 that isn't mine verified (FCNB). Both AU accounts deleted Now the part that has me angry. They also deleted 4 good tradelines (2 Capital One, 1 Home Depot, and 1 Citibank) that I never disputed (all 4 are mine and have R1 status). I'm not too upset seeing as how all 4 are open accounts and I assume they will be added back the next time those companies report but it still angers me that they would delete tradelines that were never disputed. BTW... after all of this my FAKO went from 745 to 675 (the Capital Ones and Citibank were my oldest tradelines). Has anyone else ever had TU delete good accounts that were not disputed? Is this legal? Thanks! Kirk
Did the hard inquiries you disputed have any connection to the accounts that were deleted? If so, then if you disputed the inquiry then they very well may have deleted the tradeline that was in connection with that particular inquiry.
christi523: None of the inquiries that I disputed had anything to do with the tradelines that were removed (disputed or non-disputed) SilentBob: To dispute the inquiries I entered the following info. in the fields that TU provides in their online dispute form: Company Name: Entered the Inquiring Companys Name Account Number: Entered the date of the inquiry Reason for dispute: Other: "Did not authorize inquiry. No permissable purpose." Funny thing about the inquiries is that I did the exact same thing a few months back and just received a form letter from TU stating that they did not remove inquiries and telling me that I needed to contact the companies that had put the inquiries on there directly. Maybe it just depends on who processes the dispute. Kirk
Kirk, Were the addresses you deleted associated with the good accounts that got deleted? If so, that's probably why the good accounts went bye-bye too. One of the problems with deleting addresses is that usually ALL accounts associated with the addresses are deleted - Good AND Bad! BTW, does c5 have anything to do with that 4-engined hog the USAF flies?
smogtek: I didn't have any addresses removed. Just inquiries and tradelines so I don't think that would have anything to do with it. C5 is in reference to the fifth generation Corvette (1997 - Present). I have a 2000 Millenium Yellow coupe and am a Vette fanatic Kirk
As for the 4 positive accts that were deleted, they will not reappear. TU cloaks them. That is, they remove them in such a way as to prevent reappearance, which is what they are supposed to do with correctly deleted items. Same thing happened to me. I was able to get only 2 back on. The others in 1 1/2 years have never reappeared. Be ready for a fight.
Well for now my TU is relatively clean. Only a 4 year-old utility CO and some paid/released tax liens. Since my FAKO is 694, I think I'll leave my TU report alone for the time being. I'm going either FHA or VA and if need be I'll pay the CO.
TU deleted ALL my good tradelines! I had some OCs send UDFs to put back and TU refuses to do it. I was told that unless they respond on a dispute response form, TU won't put it back! I now have only 1 car loan (6/02) and 2 CCs (7/02) for my good credit lines. Of course one of my reasons why my score is so low is the age of my credit! Well,, DUH!!!!
Well this doesn't sound good. How can they get away with that? I thought that FCRA required them to report "complete and accurate" information. If an OC reports a tradeline to them how can they get away with refusing to report it?
Not yet... was planning on doing that Monday. Do you think that would be something that I could call in about or do you think that a CRRR letter is in order? Thanks! Kirk
Personally, I would call Monday and see what they say. Also, when I have had a problem with TU not cooperating in the past, I emailed Don Richman at drichman@transunion.com and he cleared up my problem within a few days.
Thank you very much for the advice and the email. I'll give them a call Monday and if that doesn't work I'll try Mr. Richman. Thanks again! Kirk
Personally, I have never contacted the credit bureaus via E-mail, online and seldom via the phone, unless I needed some basic clarifications. I have ALWAYS sent them a very formal letter via certiied mail to let them know that I mean business. As such, I have perfected my credit files with very little hastle. When they say no, I send another one and perhaps a third, and by that time the problem is usually resolved. Johnny Blood
