I sent validation to a C/A that had two accounts listed on my report and got no response so after 30 days I sent the estoppel for both. They received it 4 days ago. I checked my report today and both are gone! YAY! Making progress thanks to this site. Thanks everyone.

Moving on to the next target...

Good job. Congrats!! The only thing you need to worry about, or keep an eye out for is them sending it to another ca.

So how would you prevent them from sending it to another CA?

There's no way to prevent them from handing it back to the original creditor and the original creditor sending it to another CA. However, if they do do that, it's a violation of the FDCPA by not validating the debt first before sending another bill, and you can hold the original CA and creditor liable for it. In fact, a CA did this to me after I requested validation, so after I got a bill from the 2nd CA, I just sent the estoppel ltr to the 2nd CA and told them I'll hold them responsible as well for not validating this debt first, sent them all the proof I had, which showed I had requested validation before, and apparently it worked because the next and last thing I've received was a letter from the original creditor saying they are dropping all billing charges, and I owe them nothing.

Could you please tell me where I can get a format for the estoppel? Thanks.

Thanks guys. I am definitely keeping that in mind. I have kept copies of all my letters, green cards etc. Both of these accounts date back to 1997 so I'm hoping they don't pass it along to another CA.
