I sure enjoyed mine this year because all my kids stayed home! Usually, when they all come in, and we have a big get-together, I end up doing more work than a mother and grandmother should have to do in a year's time! Everyone's got to be fed, and the house turns into a freakin' mess!

I got some beautiful cards, flowers, and gifts from my children and grandchildren, but my favorite one of all was having a full day of peace, quiet, and relaxation while my next-door neighbor (who's 86) and I polished off an 18-pack of Miller Lite! Wow! It's great to be a mom :)

I got to experience motherhood and grandmotherhood over and over today. On a sad note, my youngest daughter had a recent miscarriage so I did lots of mothering as she was struggling as you might expect. She has an awful cold, as well. This week, my oldest daughter fell in the bathtub suffering a concussion and reinjuring an already bad back. She is bedridden and her husband had to work. So, I got to take care of her and my 2-year old grandson!

I did give my own mom a fun mothers day present as I informed her that all of us were moving back to my hometown (where she is) in the next few months definately. My dad died 2 years ago and she is alone there. You should have heard that phone call!

But, now, daughter is in bed, asleep with grandson who is adorable when sleeping. Youngest is out at a movie, hopefully one that won't make her cry. Here I sit...

    Totally Mothered Out!

PS: But my hubby was super helpful and the Avs won...and that is comforting!

LOVED the story about the 86-year old neighbor!!

Nana, you seem to know a lot about hockey (or at least your team). How good are you at picking them against the spread?

Hummm.. there's at least three more games, right? Todays game was a pick with St. Louis the favorite. Tomorrow's is also a pick with St. Louis favored at all but one of the casinos I usually bet.

    The over/under is 5.

    Any ideas?

OK...I'm confused..today's game? There was no game..

However....based on my knowledge of Forsberg's eyes and Sakic's strong chin, and Bourque's great hair, I say take that bet! Let's not forget Avs 4, Blues 1.

Sorry.. I meant last game. :) Okay -- I think I'll put some money down on your unique style of picking hockey.

LOL!!! DaveLV, you make me smile!

I can tell you this, Dave, if you are in Colorado near Denver, as I am, there is electricity in the air. This town LOVES their Avs..and the fact that Forsberg (Sinatra had nothing on him) had his medical situation has only made it more alive. Having been through 2 superbowls here, and as luck would have it, I was visiting when they won the Stanley Cup the first time, you can feel it! It's everywhere. So, if passion has anything to do with it (Ok, no remarks about passion and my comments about the players, ehehehehe), the Denver Metro area will WILL it to them. We had press conferences and my students are making cards for Forsberg...I mean these guys are LOVED! You'd think we had a national disaster when he had his spleen removed.

Come to think of it, maybe we did!

Sorry, I am not hockey fan, but the Devils Rule and will Rule again. I like the Lord's Cup commercial with the little baby in it.

Dave, watching the Penguins play now...I have to ask...what was the spread on them winning..they have to be a huge longshot!

I don't know what the odds are on them winning the series, but the game today was a pick, with the money line favoring New Jersey pretty heavy.

That would have been my guess. I'm beginning to think my scientific determination of the winner is something to pay attention to! ROFL
