I have 4 hard pulls from the same creditor within a month causing my score to drop almost 60 points ouch ! the OC is a bank and states the pulls should have been all soft inquiries. I am in the process of qualifying for a home loan and have informed the bank of this, since the CRA won't allow inquiry disputes I requested a letter from the bank that will show these pulls were an error and should have been soft . I want to give it to the CRA so they will correct this error and restore my fico to its previous rating. the bank has been dragging their feet to fix this error it's been almost 2 months now and still no letter I want to obtain a good rate and my current score is a factor that will change the rate. any suggestions?
Sure! If I don't have this letter & UDF in 3 days I'm suing. End of story. Quit piddling around with these people Fun.
thx butch was hoping to resolve this one out of courts.but was thinking around those lines. I visit the courthouse so frequently I know all the clerks by name now. I should just get a job there lol
Hi! They sure are fixable! Just see my recent thread "Well, I sued Providian Today". Although I did file, I have settled out of court. FYI, inquiries magically dissapeared the day after they received my Fed Ex package. Don't let them get away with those pulls!
Are the bank's soft inquiries, or their business with you in any way related to your refinance? I.E.: Is your original loan with them, or did you inquire about refinancing with them, but chose to refinance with another lender on better terms?
I do not have a home loan yet, I applied for the loan which would actually be a hard inquiry, however the 4 hards were pulled prior to applying for the loan.
It could be an "unfair competitive or trade practice" to poison a potential customer's CR and credit score knowing that this would deter your competitors from making their best offers, allowing you to offer a more profitable but more expensive loan knowing that the customer might not get better offers.
If in fact your bank was trying to do this, you need a new bank. If they are just sloppy, and you want to continue and develop an on-going business relationship, maybe you need to talk to your branch manager.
I know the customer service dept has been working on the issue but it shouldn't take 2 months, my patience is running out. the branch manager did not do anything to help rectify the situation however I found a wonderful bank employee that seems to be making things happen recently. just waiting on corporate office to follow thru, I hope to have resolution by the end of this week if not I will be taking my business elsewhere and possibly filing suit for the damage.
