How long do hard Inq. stay on credit report?? 2 years?? I only have ones from 2002 on mine and am hoping that they will drop off after some time, does anyone know??

Ive heard of the big "b", should I assume they stay on until they can be "B'd" off??

FICO counts (in theory) only the last year. I've also heard the previous six months being much more important. Sounds like any of your '02 hards will not mean much in two days. <grin>

They remain for two years, hard or soft.

B works best on TU, then EQ and not at all on EXP. I've had some odd things w/EQ, where more recent inqs fall off but the older ones remain. I'll take it, whatever I can get.

I have 22 hard inq from 02' (before discovering CNET, of course:() So im hoping the new year will bring me an increase in points..woo hoo!! (fingers crossed).

Also, Ive read that an inq. costs you anywhere from 3-7 points when it's pulled, does anyone have any "guess" on how much one increases score when taken off??

I have never had anyone know the exact ratios and values of what cost how many points etc. I, and this is only my theory for what it is worth, beleive that EVERYONE's CR score is computed differently based on what it contains. I think that the more hard inquiries one has the more points each inquiry is worth. Plain and simple, but just my theory!
