How do you go about disputing a hard inquiry you never authorized? It's from Chase Credit Research. Never applied?

    Thanks

Dispute it with the CRA...they may or may not remove it...

If it's on equifax then you may be able to get it removed. On TU I've had troubles removing unauthorized inquiries. They say to notify the actual lender who pulled the report.

On our unauthorized inquiries, we called the lender and demanded they remove them. Their response? The salesman called the next day still trying to sell us a car.

We have reported them to the FTC by phone, and I think I will send a letter also as it gives more detail then the phone call. Pulling inquiries without permission is a big no-no.

Don't let them get away with it. We are working too hard to get back on our feet to allow them to undermine our efforts.

    Good luck to you.
