We were looking at my husbands Privacy Guard report today and there are two new inquires on there.

They both were on October 4, 2003 and say:

    TransUnion has:
    IDENITYWATCHDOG./QMRMTG
    Finance other than personal

    and

    Equifax has:

    CR615ZB13303
    N/A

I can't find anywhere on Privacy Guard to get the addresses or phone numbers of who this is.

Is anyone familiar with either of these?

Also, we filled out a credit application at a furniture store on the 24th of September. They appearently use Citifinancial as both of our reports have an inquiry from them on that date, but my husbands also has one from WFFinance Finance/Personal on the 24th also. Do companys pull more than one report? They are both on TransUnion.

Did you get approved? Looks like the furniture company might have shopped you to a differant credit provider to me.

    Nope, we were not approved.

Do I have an recourse to get the second one removed?

Don't creditors have to tell you which report(s) they pulled when you are denied credit?

The whole subject of inquiries damaging credit stinks. There is no reason to reduce scores because of them. The excuse used "they could be red flags that people are desperately shopping for credit and could be getting into trouble" is just that--another excuse to lower scores and charge us higher interest rates. How many does that bogus reasoning actually apply to?

We're told to shop around for best prices etc. and then get punished for doing it. There needs to be some kind of consumer mass action to stop this nonsense.

Had to get that out of my system.

    That looks promising.

Can I call the CRA for my husband and ask for an address or phone number of who these are?

Thank you for the link. The information contained therein is invaluable.

With the human element virtually gone from the equation, we are all at the mercy of statistics and bogus reasoning. Maybe the lenders should revert back to the days of reading entrails to predict whether a borrower will default. I'll bet the odds would fall in the same range as the computer generated scoring system we now have.

The more I know, the angrier I get. What is sad is that 1) the vast amount of the American public really doesn't realize just what is going on and how their lives are being controlled and 2) if they did, so many have become hypnotized by the TV, sports etc. to barely take the time to try and change things. They shrug their shoulders and say "Well, that's just the way things are". So much easier to just sit back on the old couch with a brewski in hand. The perpetrators of this corrupt system count on this type of behavior.

That's OK. The system will implode. And history has shown that revolutions have developed not from the masses, but from small groups of dedicated and angry people who never ceased to fight for what they believed was right.
