Several of my credit cards are reporting a high balance somewhat higher than my credit limit. Some as much as 200 or 300 more. This is valid data because I got behind at one point and the late fees and over limit fees on cards that were already maxed out took balances above the credit limit. The accounts are now back in good standing and I figure that the easiest way to correct this is to ask that my CL be increased. But I'm also looking to get a mortgage in the near future, so I don't want any hard inquiries on my report. Does anyone know if a bank will typically do a hard or a soft inquiry for a credit line increase? Thanks, Brett
CREDIT LINE INCREASE W/O "HARD" JUST ASK... If they say they MUST...then you MUST take your business to another credit card... Move on to the next card..."SOFT OR NO INQUIRY...OR DON'T BOTHER"
