Hard pull on Credit Report from ...

    I am a recent convert to this site and came on board with a charge off from CCB and have gotten "walked thru the process" by you wonderful people (have just validated with NCO). Finally requested all my credit reports and have so far received TU and Ex. Am amazed by whats on one and whats not on the other, etc. will tackle all this in time (with y'alls help, ok?)

    One question I do have now is that on one of the reports - Progressive Ins has pull a hard inquiry on me and I have NEVER even called that firm. I have been with Traveler's Ins. for the last 14 years with absolutely no complaint. What do I do with that? Call Progressive, or do I dispute it with the CRA - or do I just leave it alone?

    Plus one Credit Report (Experian) has me listed with 5 addresses, three of the correct (my present and my past two addresses = all over the past 20 years). One is an office bldg. I have never even worked in located in Atl., GA (where I live) and the other is an Los Angeles address, and I wouldn't know the State of California if I was dropped in the center of it! Just leave these, or do something about that also?

    If you are planning to clear the negatives by disputing the account(s), I suggest you get rid of your old addresses first. The creditors use old addresses as one of the verification factors. So, if you take them out, they have less "facts" from you.

    Dispute your progressive inquiry. They have no right to pull a hard inquiry without your permission. Go to the FAQ link and you will find Dispute Inquiry sample letters.

    If you are 100% certain that you did not give Progressive Insurance permission to pull your report, get your $1,000 too.

    Thanks to all for your responses. Will follow what you said, and yes, I am absolutely positive, I have never had anything whatsoever to do with Progressive, have only seen their commercials on tv, that's it. Maybe CRA made a mistake by putting it on my report, will have addresses deleted first. Again, thanks.
