How can I catch a CA in a violation when they call constantly? Since it is a 800 #, I assume that the actual number is scrambled on my AOL Call Listing (I don't have Caller ID) and as soon as I answer, they hang up. So I doubt that it is telemarketers. I don't have all the times of the calls because I have AOL Call Alert and it only comes up when I don't answer the phone. It has gotten so bad that I don't even answer the phone so that I can *69 it to find out if it was the 800 number. The number is 800-796-8127. To clarify how what I mean about harrassing on 3/8 AOL has this number calling at 4:30, 4:49, 5:12, 5:27, 5:48, 6:35, 6:53, 7:21, 7:43 and 8:12. That doesn't include the times when I answer and I get either a click in my ear or dead silence. Usually the calls start at about 8:30 am. What can I do?

Call your phone company? Maybe they can do something about it.

Have you tried calling it from a pay phone to find out who it is?

BTW - if you can prove it is a CA calling, it is a violation of 806(5) of the FDCPA.

    According to http://www.inter800.com

The phone number is owned by
    FTD Flowers WA
    1-800-796-8127

Are you sure the number is correct?

I do believe that it is a CA. I am on the national "Do Not Call" registry and my telemarketing calls are practically non-existent. Anyway, the few times that a person actually says something, (usually when my teenage daughter answers), the person will ask for me by my first name and not my full name. (I heard that is a tactic CAs use to trick family members or the recipient of the call in to thinking that it is a friend calling.) Most of all, the number NEVER leaves messages. What can my telephone company do? Can they trace the calls without me having to be charged extra?

P.S. I checked my Call Log through AOL and *69. That is the number that comes up.
