Sears has the WORST customer service that I've ever had to deal with;they only employ the rudest, most incompetent people on the planet.

Which is why I closed my account w/them(they are not worth it).

So true!! The supervisors are trained to be nastier than the csr's!

A supervisor at the executive offices even admitted to me that they are trained to treat customers the way I was treated!

The best way to deal with this is to change your phone number.

Sears took me to court for $800 shortly after college. They hounded me,and then later got a judgment for $1K. I went to CCCS later, they participated in the program, but I stopped and only manged to extend the time the judgement was on my report. It eventually dropped off though. I still can't belive they got a judgment for $800. Unbelieveable. LOL!

I wonder if they'll ever give me a card again...

I certainly don't intend to put anyone down for their fears about judgments and garnishments. These are considered to be lethal weapons by both the courts and the collectors. And if properly done, they are just that. But they are also lethal weapons in reverse if improperly done which they proveably are in about 98% of all circumstances. That simple fact means that the debtor has about a 98% chance of turning them into a "polish pistol" in which the barrel is mounted the wrong way on the body of the revolver so that the puller of the trigger commits suicide. And it is or can be financial suicide if the debtor will simply learn what it takes to complete a successful judgment and take the proper remedial action upon his discovery of void judgments.

I show people what is wrong with their judgments and tell them what they have to do to get it reversed. I don't give legal advice because I'm not a lawyer. But it don't take a lawyer to study the law at least a little bit and know what is right and what is wrong.

Not directed towards anyone in particular, but thought it applies.

I don't think it's right to make judgements about a person you know nothing about. It's easy to look down your nose at someone - it sure doesn't take any guts to do that. So before you go off on someone you imagine is irresponsible, think about what that person's situation may be. Maybe they're sick, or lost their job, or had a spouse die. Maybe they can't even afford "other options" like CCCS or bankruptcy - or maybe they don't want to go bankrupt because they DO feel a moral obligation to pay their bill at some time but CAN'T right now.

A lot of people just need help getting by RIGHT NOW. It is really stressful having collectors call you, threatening you, and causing general havoc in your life.

People come here for support, not a lecture about responsibility.
