Has anyone ever PFB'd Target?

I got turned down for their Visa and, since the app is supposed to "automatically consider" me for the Guest Card, that as well. Reason: Inactive or insufficient recent credit history. Has anyone been successful in dealing with them over PFB? Thanks.

Well, here I am, answering my own questions again.

To all those who got denied by Target and are thinking of pleading for reconsideration: 3 different Target Credit Services supervisors (not cs reps) told me today there was no such thing. I.e., they don't have the ability to overwrite their computer system and the fact that it spit out a denial. Just FYI.

Target Credit Services direct number, in case anyone needs it: (888) 316 6145.

The lack of one may have been a problem. Before the last derog was gone from EFX, the score was 640. Now there are no derogs and no current accounts (last one was closed in 2001). EFX tells me that I won't get access to the score until there is an update or new account opened.

Needless to say. Target pulled the report AFTER the last derog was gone. And I actually thought that would be a good thing.

You could try again at the store. My DH and I applied for cards a few days before last Christmas. We were both turned down online for guest and Visa but got approved at the store for guest cards. It was instant approval based on our crummy scores.

They pulled Equifax for him, and the next day when I tried they pulled Experian, so I guess it's random which CRA they'll use at the store. His EQ score was 650, my EX 629. I asked to be considered for guest card only.

I've had a Target guest card for over a year now and frankly, they're pretty stingy. I have a decent income, only derog is from 1996 (a paid tax lien), and I'm only at about 30% utilization on my cards. I started at $200 and I got bumped 6 months later to $300. I've asked two more times for an increase and they've denied me both times. Because the limit is so low, it's actually a major score killer whenever I use the card. Frankly, I'm not even sure if it's worth it.
