Since I've been searching all I can find on the subject of debt collection my brain is starting to kick into gear! I just thought about something that happened to me about 8 months ago. I was going over my cell phone bill and I noticed that I had OVER 30 OUT GOING (from me) calls to several different numbers in the same city and the calls were only a minute or less.I hadn't placed any calls to that city! I noticed them because I was looking to see where the calls that I didn't answer where coming from. I wrote the time and date down so I could check when the phone bill came in. I went back through several bills and sure enough there they were over and over again. The good news is my incoming calls for the first minute is free. I called the cell phone provider and explained that I had someone calling me quite often and in tracking dates and times those numbers matched. THEY WERE TO ME NOT FROM ME. I told her I had an account in dispute and it must have to do with a CA. I ask her if theres a way the caller could reverse the direction of a call. She sounded concerned (like this has happened to others) and said she would have it investigated emediately. Well a long story short the cell phone provider bonused me several hundred minutes for all the inconvience and I haven't had another call that wasn't mine since. Not really sure what they found out but the calls stopped! The SOL are up and the phone bills (I still have them) would deffinitely show harrassment if I ever needed them.
