Have two collection accounts, one is on TU and EQ and the other is only on TU. -- Newer one is from 2011 and will not drop until 2017 -- can't wait that long :)

The second is on TU only is due off in 2015. -- Question should I do a triple play i.e.- DV letter to CA, Dispute with CRA, and maybe dispute with original creditor at the same time? Would that increase the chances of deletion -- thoughts?

All other derogs are due off by Jan 2014 -- If it works, I'm clean! thoughts??? help!

Is the OC reporting as well? If not, don't bother with them.

Are you past the SOL on the debt? If you are, then that's a nice easy way to start.

OC is not reporting, but I know that these are recent from 2011 and 2009 and killing my score -- Both are relatively small and one from 2009 is with a junk debt buyer NCO -- As for SOL, I might be past SOL on the one from 2009 in reality, might have to do more background, but it's only on TU, which is amazing.

If OC is not reporting, there is nothing to dispute (at least directly through CRA), and are probably best left alone at this time.

Check SOL here: Complete State List of Statute of Limitations on Debt

Your region of the country may rely heavily on TU and therefore it's the most pulled report and certain creditors may only subscribe to that CRA regionally.

Advice taken, both are small charge off's of old utility account, it was reported in 2011 and the other is for an insurance account that was reported by the CRA in 2009, but probably related to an event in 2006 or 2007, so there could be an SOL issue there and NCO, a JDB (Junk Debt Buyer) is reporting, not OC.

A thing to keep in mind, this month, our friends at NCO, settled A SECOND lawsuit with the FTC, for violating majorly, the FDCPA. Interesting reading. Check to see if any of the goodies in that could cause them to go away, AFTER giving you a check.

The OPEN or REPORTED dates don't indicate anything. You want to look for (on TU) reported until.

If it is a 2006 incident, the debt should fall off this year.

DVing to get the evidence, then if it was verified on the dispute, you would want to dispute based on the fact it was obsolete.

Also, don't confuse the SOL with the reporting time.

Thanks everyone, BTW, I'm a former mod. from wayyy back; -- it's been a while and I can't remember all the tricks of the trade, but it's coming back slowly. -- Thanks Again! -- Jam237, I believe that its probably 2006 or 2007 (Defintely SOL and easy to work with). I'll DV and dispute with CA. -- this one might come off easily

-- The second one is an old cable bill with an agency called CRA, from Dallas -- As I remeber, it's hard to get them removed, but we'll see. Anybody have insight on these guys -- Might dispute with CRA and DV them too. Really small amount, but probably knocking off 70-100 points
