I recently disputed an account with TransUnion I knew to be Fraud. I stated in my dispute..."This account was opened fraudulently in my name, please verify competent proof from source"

I then received a copy of my TransUnion credit report and yes it was deleted but I now must call a TU Fraud number to talk about anything on my credit report. The TU rep said that if I apply for credit the creditor will have to call me at the number they have listed on my credit report before credit is approved.

There is also a listing under consumer statement that says....#HK# ID FRAUD VICTIM ALERT: FRAUDULENT APPLICATIONS MAY BE SUBMITTED IN MY NAME USING CORRECT PERSONAL INFORMATION. DO NOT EXTEND CREDIT WITHOUT FIRST CONTACTED ME PERSONALLY AND VERIFYING ALL APPLICATION INFORMARTION AT (xxx)xxx-xxxx, DO NOT CONFUSE WITH CUSTOMERS OF SIMILAR IDENTIFICATION, VERIFY ALL IDENTIFYING INFORMATION.

SPECIAL MESSAGES: CONSUMER STATEMENT ON FILE RELATES TO TRUE NAME FRAUD OR CREDIT FRAUD.

Is having this listed on my credit report a bad thing?? I always heard it was...

    Any opinions?

    Tac
