I got a voicemail from a processor trying to serve my husband at his parent's address. They live in another state and he has not lived with them for over 10 years. The debt is not that old. The parent's address is still listed on his credit report as a previous address. We live in a state with a very short statute of limitations for revolving debt and his parents do not so they have a better chance by changing our address for us (jerks). The problem is, we have lived at the same address for 7 years and any credit we have was aquired after we lived here. We have not used his parents address for anything since 1998.

The processor needs me to call him back. How should we proceed? Will we have to travel 900 miles to court because a creditor decided to sue us in another state?

    Thanks for any advice.
