Hello Everyone... First of all, thank you for your forum. I have already learned alot by reading some of your posts. My score is 540 in all 3 unions. I have a judgment that i paid off, but is still marked as unpaid, can i get it removed? i also have a federal tax lien and a state tax lien. i don't know where or how to start? Is there any way to get these liens off my report? I have a mortgage that is an arm and it keeps going up!! I cannot refinance because of the liens. Can anyone give me some advice Thanks for your time, k
You first step is to dispute the derogatory tradelines with the CRA's. Don't use a "not mine" dispute rather assert incorrect dates, case numbers, etc. Tax liens are somewhat difficult to remove insofar as a third party, Lexis Nexis, is usually quick to verify even inaccurate information. The court does not do so. If they verify anything inaccurate, get a true copy of the court filings from the court. You may consider using that later to your advantage.
You can dispute the paid collection, do it by snail mail and include any evidence you have that it's paid. As far as the liens, I have been told that you could get them removed from your credit report, but they will resurface when you ar ein the process to getting a new mortgage. Also on the application you will have to answer a question about liens. It would be fraud to say no even if it's not found out otherwise. Jen
Thank you for your response. I don't know how i will ever be able to fix this stuff. the tax liens are just killing me!! is there anyway to get a refi on my house with the liens there? or trade in my car ? I am very grateful for all your help Kris
