    Hello,

I am relatively new here, although I have posted with a couple of questions, but primarliy lurked , and read, read, read... lots of great and valuable info here!!

My scenario obviously in debt problems since I am here. I made a decision to help my brother in law raise my niece and nephew after their mom deserted them . The kids were 2& 4 then , now 4& 6 , and had gone thru a lot of emotional distress, bordering on abuse.I am single, no kids, in my mid 40's. Left a job that paid in the 40's and was just getting my credit back in shape from a BK in 1996.Was doing OK wit hbills until my BIL was laid off a year ago. Since about Sept.2002 have not paid bills, Sold my house, car was repoed in Dec, and lots of calls from all the people I owe money to. Had 9 credit cards total, and cell phone , which was shut off in Feb.

I initially tried to talk to these people but have not talked to anyone except the bank that held my car loan and has incorrectly requested I pay the deficien cy ( I posted on this). My BIL recently got an additional phone added to his account for me. my name is not attached to it at all. Suddenly I have 2 creditors calling me, 1 is FNAB, the other a CA I think. How did they get this number and should I call them and tell them they have the wrong #?

    Thanks for this site!
    Joan

Order your credit reports and take and inventory of whats being reported and how. You could tell the people wrong number or you could get their address and send them a letter to make all correspondences via usps. I am a newbie so this is just my 2 cents.
