I have been on disability for the last 4 months and have lost control of my credit card and other credit payments i am struggling to keep up on my mortage i have so many late fees it sad and now my credit is ruined.

I'm hoping there is a way to get caught up on my bills so that they wont get charged off or go to collections and to get these lates taken off my credit report anything anyone know of that i can do. I have tried calling creditors they are no help well not all of them. I'm now writing letters to see what happens. I just rebuilt my credit over the last 3 years now it seems like it goingt back down hill.

    Any suggestions anyone plese!!!!

When you write to the non-helpful ones, mention what the helpful ones are doing for you and how that is earning your loyalty and you'll make sure they get paid ahead of uncooperative creditors. Worth a shot.

You might alsos end to the uncooperative ones a copy of page 1 of a bankruptcy petition. It need not be filled out, but the message is clear - you know of taht option and will take it if you must.

You can always tell them u r about to file for BK, and sometimes that triggers them into negotiating but don't count on it. I have found that most creditors have no heart and can care less if your home burned to the ground, plain and simple.

Your best bet is play catch up as best you can. Is there a good friend or relative you borrow money from? If you do, write up a promissory note to put them at ease and assure them u r going to pay them back, and both of u need to sign it.

Removing lates from a TL is not an easy task, especially soon after they were placed there. I have found that if you can catch up though, this shows integrety to the creditor better than "let's make a deal". Most OC's will not send to an outside CA until about 6-12mos after thier in-house efforts have failed. Don't worry, your credit does not seem to be ruined at this point from what you have stated. You just have some dings. If you are planning on getting another home loan or car loan in the near future, most lenders will accept a letter explaining these hard times for better loan consideration. You may pay a higher interest rate but don't worry about that now. Concentrate on getting caught up for now.

Get control of the situation, and take a good, clear look at it ease into this! You can do this. We are here to help and offer support! Good luck and keep us posted. :)

Send these creditors a letter telling them you have x$ to settle all your accounts. That each creditor will receive a certain % of this amount and any creditors share declining the offer will be paid to the creditors accepting the offer.
