Can someone help me, in a moment of desperation I paid an outstanding debt (don't have time to fight or negotiate, applying for mortgage in 2 weeks), how long does the CA have to report as paid? They say they reported it on June 1st, but it is still showing as unpaid on equifax and experian, when I told them this they said I need to dispute it with the CRA. Does anyone know how I can get this to show as paid with doing another dispute and waiting 30 days? They will only send me a letter stating this if I mail them a self addressed stamped envelope, and who know how long it will take for them to send it back. Any suggestions????

Aren't they supposed to send you a receipt?

What method did you use to pay? Check, credit card, cash, wire? By phone, in person, mail?

mcovert, Called the CA ask for a supervisor, get their name and the agreed upon terms again. State that you care calling the CRAs today and talk to a supervisor and tell them the name of the supervisor at the collection agency to verify it. Have them call them on the phone as you are on hold. They will delete immediately, I Did that yesterday.

Good luck, it might take a few tries.

I paid the OC by debit card, they assured me they would send notice to the CA right away, which the CA confirmed that they recieved.

Called the CA and get the supervisors name and explain what you are going to do.

If this debt has been paid, won't the lender accept any documentations to reflect this. Or are you trying the up your scores

He needs it to be stated Paid on his credit reports and the CRA or CA is slacking on getting them updated.
