Help, my 14 y.o. got a collection letter. The original creditor named is BMG Music. I plan to send a cease & desist letter, and to argue age. Any suggestions?

    Take a deep breath!

All you have to do is write a letter stating you've never had any sort of relationship with this company(even if you have). Also mention that you never RECEIVED anything from them.

This is simply a scare tactic. Once you send the letter, they will go away and 6 months from now they'll send you a letter BEGGING you to order more from them.

I used to get these all the time while in college, some years ago.

The same thing happened to me with a mail order pantyhose company. They sent free trial pantyhose to my house. Then they sent a bill. I wrote them saying I never ordered anything (which I did not).

They have not contacted me since.
