I got my first bill 5 days before the Dell Financial Services pay deadline.

After numerous tries, I got someone on the phone.

She told me to fax an autopay form. But their website never works.

I faxed an autopay form request last Monday, waited two hours (tried to get online) and never heard back. I finally found the form through someone else's website and faxed this and a voided check. I was assured this would not be a problem.

Every day since, I have tried to call and check account info, "unavailable at this time", tried to get a human on the phone (with false wait times), emailed customer service, PFed them, and have not been given the courtesy of whether they credited my first payment.

I have filed a BBB complaint because of this. Today, I finally got online and it said my payment is two days late!

I am crying so hard! I have fought like mad to repair my credit and these scammers are going to report me as late and I'm going to lose all my prime cards and never get out of credit hell because of their sick games!!!! What can I do? THEY WON'T REPLY TO ME! The BBB rep told me Dell Financial Services ignores virtually all complaints and has a horrid track record. Damn it damn it all! What on earth can I DO!!!!!!!!?????????? I have never been this upset!!!!!

NO Author relax. You are not going to lose all your prime cards :( ... they will not report you being 2 days late, I mean some people have horror stories of this happening but it is not the norm. This is your first bill, you will get someone from Dell to correct your account and remove the derogatory listing from your account before any reports are made. Keep trying to get CS on the phone (a PERSON you will get nothing from any automated systems here) and explain your situation.

First, I have had this happen on "new" accounts and have had success clearing it up so I know it happens all the time with first bills/payments.

Second, it is only 2 days not 30,60,90,or 120 so in all likely hood even if you don't get someone to remove the entry from your Dell account it will not get sent to the CRA's only used as a late fee opportunity... BUT I AM CONFIDENT you will definitely get it removed by talking to a more competent CS rep.

Stop crying...relax. You will get this taken care of tomorrow. Talk to a CS rep and don't take no for an answer...stay clear and focused...don't get upset with the rep...explain your situation and it will lead to removal I am sure of it. You may have to fax relevant postmark/first bill to them etc but most likely the CS will just remove the mark and the penalty if any. Got my fingers crossed for you.

The problem is, my payment still is not credited nor is it taken from my bank account :'(

I am so upset I'm having asthma and can't sleep. I will try to resolve this at 8 a.m. and if they won't relent, my lawyer will call. I'm not letting them get away with shoddy customer service.

The Better Business Bureau reports on members and non-members. Membership in the BBB is voluntary and members must meet and maintain BBB standards. If a company is a member of the BBB it is stated in this report.

    BBB Customer Experience
Based on BBB files, this firm previously had an unsatisfactory business performance record due to unanswered and unresolved complaints. Recently, the company has acted to resolve its complaints and its record has been satisfactory since that time.

Consumers allege experiencing confusion with the "low monthly payments and 90 days same as cash" program. Consumers should note that applying for "low monthly payments and 90 days same as cash" does not guarantee them a low finance charge or acceptance into the 90 days same as cash program. Consumers should carefully review the loan agreement to determine what terms they have been offered, as soon as they receive it. If consumers choose not to accept the terms of the loan agreement, they must recontact a Dell Sales representative within 24 hours of receipt of the loan agreement and either cancel the Dell order or arrange another method of payment. Dell Financial has indicated that the 90 days same as cash program is not available to all who apply. Whether a customer is approved for a particular program depends upon credit underwriting criteria, and not all persons can be approved.

Stick it out...I use a speakerphone and just go about my business untill I hear a human being pick up. Is that the only # you have to call?

After 1 hour and 20 minutes on a speaker phone, I finally talked to a friendly rep named Pat.

She told me that the payment is going through today and while late charges were not added because of the due date falling on Saturday, she will make sure no negatives on the bureaus or from my checking account result.

I didn't trash DFS customer service, by the way. At least a real person who was nice got on the phone. And she wished me a happy holiday season.

I still think the waits and such suck!
