In our first round, we disputed several lates on a First USA card as "never late."

My wife just received a call from First USA asking about the dispute.

My wife was told that our account was being frozen b/c we were disputing that it was our account.

What do I do? This is an open account that I want to keep open!

    TIA

I would tell the truth. I disputed the lates, not ownership of the account.

    Thank you for your reply!

We are around the 20th day that they have to respond. Am I better off waiting until 30 days passes to call?

I can live without the use of the card a few weeks.

Do I stand a chance of the First USA closing the account if I don't respond now?

I think you should call now if your interest is in maintaining a good relationship with the card company. I would recommend that you do all that you can to insure that they understand exactly what you are in disagreement over.
    I would think so.

    Thanks Bill!

I will tell call and tell them that I found numerous errors on my report and have asked the CRAs to verify the data they are reporting.

Has anybody else had this happen to them and did it result in an ineffective dispute?
