I sent a dispute letter to Equifax regarding a repo, I disputed it as not mine. It came back verfied and a few things were changed on the entry. What can I do now. I have to get this off of my CR. I heard that I should start disputing dates and such, but what is that going to go, won't they just update my info? I want this off and I am niow stumped as what to do. Please help.
You keep disputing each and every little error you can find in hopes they get tired of you and just delete. Is this the OC or CA reporting? You can't let yourself get stumped on the first no.
Agree. It may take two or three more letters, but they will re-investigate the matter. The real problem is what to do after they have verified twice, because then they seem to stop responding to your disputes completely. I'm in this situation now, so I'm sending a verification request to the OC in the hopes that they can no longer provide any documentation that the debt did in fact belong to me. Lastly, even if the repo and everything you are disputing is 100% accurate, you still have a very good chance that they will delete the account anyway. Why? Because both the CRAs and and OCs are extremely sloppy. It happens all of the time.
Re: Re: HELP!! Equifax Verified... Well honestly this is my account and I have no clue if anything is wrong. It is the OC reporting it. The DOLA was 03/00. Do you think I should dispute it as not mine again? Also I read somewhere on the board that that you can request them to provide documentation of how they verified? And my fathr cosigned on the account, it is a joint account, can I use that at all. Thanks. Thanks for the second reply. Should I write in my letter that I already have disputed the item and it isn't mine. Or should I just send letter #1 again. Would I have a better chance disputing online?
Re: Re: HELP!! Equifax Verified... What do you guys think if the OC validation lettr in the letter section? Should I try that now?
