I had posted this exact post long time back but had only one reply. I never did anything cause I had become busy, but now I am determined to take care of my credit report.

Please Help me out here by offering any replies to the question below:

    Previous Post:

Ok, first off, I have to say a THANK YOU to all who have posted here before and offered such amazing insight into this.

I have literally spent about 12 hours+ reading the "newbie" guides and feel now I have a good hold of some things. Of course, not as good as everyone here, yet better educated than most consumers.

I am a little confused about somethings and needed further clarification from the experts here.

First off, my credit report summary:

13 Charge Offs of which 3 are paid but show up as "Paid Collection" and such. Almost all of them are with CAs..I do not show OCs for a lot of them. About $7K in debt.

All of them are revolving debt and all of them occurred between 2000 to 2002. I am in California.

My course of action after reading the posts is following:

    1. Check CRA for correct personal info..like name and stuff.
    2. Send validation to CAs
2a. Send validation & dispute letters to OCs.
    3. After I get green card back, dispute with CRA
    4. Cease and desist CA
    5. Estoppel CA
    6. No proof, intent to sue and complaint CA and OC

So, my questions are as follows:

    1. Is the SOL for revolving accts in CA 2 years or 4 years? I am confused.

    2. In the FAQ, it says to only do validations on few accounts at a time...4, 5 or 6. So is 6 ok to do with CRA and not risk "frivolous" ranking???

    3. Can I send the "Nutcase" letter to the 3 paid charge off accounts even if those were paid off sometime back? One being April 2002.

    4. Shall I subscribe to Credit Expert by Experian for the update info? Is that really the best still?? I have pulled my credit report through consumerinfo.com...they offer a similar service too.

    5. Is consumerinfo 3 Credit Bureau Report good? That is where I got my info for my latest credit report details.

Thank you thank you for helping.

I will keep everyone updated on what happens with my score. My ultimate goal is to buy a house next year. Appreciate your help.

I am a newbie like wildviper. Great questions wildviper - I have similiar ones. Is this (Wildviper's layout of the process) the right order of things you go through when trying to repair? I've been reading all the newbie stuff, but Im still a little confused too.

1*Did you look this up on Why Chats site listed in the newbie link below?
2*This applies to disputes with the CRAs only. You can demand validation from as many CAs as you have issues with all at the same time.
3*When they were paid don't matter.
    4*A lot of people use PG {Privacy Guard}
    5*

I got the 3-in-1 credit report - it reported Experian differently than the 1 I got from Experian directly. So from my exp, I'd rather go with ordering each cr directly from the cra.
