Hmmm. I called Ex today and they said they haven't received the letter yet. The letter was the one showing that GMAC purged my records. So maybe there is still hope. She said they'd mark my file that there is a letter coming and let me know in 8 to 10 days. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. All I want is the TRUTH! And THEY CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH! Ha ha. I've always wanted to use that line. Thanks so much everyone for all your advice and insight!
Help! GMAC lies!! *Update* Hi everyone! After months of this agony, a few failed attempts to Experian, and a faxed statement by the GMAC customer service rep, I got a letter from EX stating this has been DELETED!!! WOO HOO!! We're buying a house and it didn't show up on the bank's credit report either! Oh, happy day! Thank you so much everyone!! I couldn't have done it without you all. Now I have just one medical bill to work on that I never even knew about. *sigh* I'm hoping HIPAA can help me out on that one.
