I have an acct which I believe to be over 7 yrs old. The credit card company is saying they sold the acct to Commercial Finance and they are willing to remove the neg info and report it as sold to Comm Finance. Should I continue to dispute this further and attempt to get it removed completely or is this enough.

I'm just afraid that creditors will see Sold to Comm Finance and assume it was a charge off and also I'm not sure if it will affect my score.

I could use some insight right about now.

    Any suggestions for me.

If it's over 7 years old, HELL no it isn't ok if they report is as sold. It isn't ok if they report it at all.

    Questions:

Have you checked your states SOL laws?

When was the account charged off?

    When is the DOLA?

Amen! Skip over all notices and fax them an intent to sue letter that say unless: it's gone and you get a faxed copy of the UDF within the next 72 hours, that you are filing in court for summary judgement of their negligent and willful non-compliance of the provisions of the FCRA and FDCPA.

Go full bore on the offense and get it gone!
