I have to say I have been reading these boards for quite some time. I knew my credit was going to go downhill. I recently went through a divorce and have been in over my head with rent, so I can keep my children in their schools. So, this is my report from Experian. I pulled it today. My score is 402. My report is pretty much accurate. I had gotten a lot of incorrect information off of my reports about a year ago. So there really isn't much to dispute. I have two repos from just two months ago. And a bunch of credit card collections. A car insurance collection and a slew of lates. So, pretty much nothing is past the SOL. Should I do the valdation thing with the CAs? Or do I just start negotiating? Here is my negatives. Maybe someone can give me a jump start. I am in the financial position to dig myself out of this hole, but I need a plan. I got a recent raise and the ability to pick up extra hours. As you can see, nothing has a huge balance, except the repos. The one item I do not recognize is the Time Warner. That can't be mine. I have time warner now and my account is fine. So, that one doesn't make any sense. The mortgage is probably your most positive account, even with an old 30 day late. Don't touch it. Is the insurance amount due accurate? Is it for coverage actually provided, or did you cancel, but they failed to terminate the policy and continued billing? The repos are probably the ones to bite you later, since they are worth suing over. But if you have nothing, at this point why bother. Are there any of your reporting accounts that you could keep current, as a starting point for rebuilding credit later?

I read your post...reading and reading and reading. I just want to say that Ontrack will lead you in the right direction. Been gone for a few months and back now reading up on the board. Thank goodness for faithful ones like Ontrack to help us with our postings. The "pro's" as we call them on here are good at what they do. Take their advice and follow it precisely. Don't try to learn everything quickly, but do try to learn as much as you can each time you read. This board is a plethre of invaluable information and it works. I have been gone because I moved into my new house that this board helped me to get because of vast credit improvements.
