I am a newbie, I never post anything on websites but I am sooooo angry I am ready to Sue Midland Collections and RMA. To make a long story short I opened accounts with Sears and Newport News back in 1994, when I was 19 and stupid in college. The Original date of delinquency with Newport News was April 95 and with Sears May of 95. Newport News appeared on my EQ file I successfully got that deleted but the Midland Collections Account still appears on my file , It also appears on my TU report. I got Sears deleted from my TU but the RMA account still appears on report along with the Midland. I also disputed with EXP. I got my green card back on the 11/21 but still have not heard anything. I am not trying to scam anyone but I know my legal rights 7 years is 7 years. I am trying to buy a house and these two accounts will keep my from obtaining my dreams. I am a single mother who is going to go through a first time home buyer program, they want me to pay the debts off. I know of credit attorney in Pa (my home state) who works on a contingency basis, they are interested in my case. I just do not know how much to sue for. Oh by the why I am a Paralegal that was turned down for a Job because of my credit in August. and can you believe Midland placed the account on TU with a date of 8/2002, that is really re-aging an account.
Midland re-aged mine too and stated 120 days late, and they have not even had the account for 120 days. Keep us updated on the Midland situation.
Wow, I'm also in Pa, and everything you mentioned above describes my situation, too! Unfortunately for me, a key difference is that my DOLA was 97, so I have a year or so to wait. But I'm also interested in a collective solution for all of us. I am RMA/Sears. Please keep us informed of your journey. And don't give up!

I would first send out letters of Validation to each one of the collection agencies and if they don't send you the info send a second with intent to sue if they don't remove them, if they fail to report to the CRA's that your disputing the CL you have then under the FDCPA Section 809(B) 1,000 fine for each credit bureau they have not reported to. this u can do in small claims court on your own. Best of Luck to you.
If it is past the 7 year reporting peiod I would not bother with validation, go right to the remove it or be sued. WALLST
You have more patience than I do. I would just sue 'em and let them worry about how to meke me go away.
You were turned down for a job because of a reaged debt. You should run (don't walk) to the attorney you mentioned who is interested in your case. I have no doubt that a jury will be unsympathetic to a colossal greed machine like Midland. You are light years beyond validation and ITS letters.
