hi guys, I just pulled my credit report and on thing on there that I'm really worried about is a credit card I opened in 2006 from Nordstrom. Thebalance on the card is $1530. I know it doesn't seem like much, but i dont have any extra funds to pay this. I'm really want it to be deleted from my CR.... Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can go about doing this? Also I believe the debt is with the OC Thanks guys
Hi alancaster, I just replied to your question about how to handle this debt in the other thread you posted, so you can go check that thread. One thing I would add, though - you said you don't have the money to pay it off. If you can muster up around 30-50% of the amount you owe, you should be able to make a deal with Nordstrom. The debt is old (I believe you said 2006?) so there is a good chance they will settle for less than the full amount.
You're going to need some cash to bring to the table. If you've got nothing at the moment, I wouldn't stir the pot. Cut back your spending, sell some things on eBay, or find a 2nd job to bring in some extra income to put towards this debt. Do whatever is necessary to save about half of the amount you owe and then begin your negotiations for a PFD.
