Hi, I'm new to this board and have tried to research as much as possible including the FAQ section and need some help. I filed BK in 1996. To make a long story short (is this possible? ? , Fred Meyer who uses Hurley State Bank has stated in my EX. CR that the status of my account was included in the BK and the account was charged off. However they did not do this until 1999, 3 years later. In my TU CR it shows Fred Meyer has a Charge Off.. and no mention of my BK. Fred Meyer closed its credit card dept, but my CR shows they last reported 6/2003. Weird. I'm not sure why they would do this. I would like to have both CR's cleared of F. Meyer. What strategy should I use? Should I send them letters to prove this account is mine and ask for hard proof? Please help me.. I'm getting really discouraged and can't afford an attorney to help repair my credit. Thanks.
