I have an account that is on my Experian CR that went to collections in 4/95 thus it is scheduled to be dropped on 3/02. The creditor told me that the first late payment that started this was 5 months before in 11/94. So shouldn't it be removed in 10/01?? Experian just "verified" how do I get them to remove this?? thanks .... I can see 650!!!

You have a couple of options:

    1. Ask the creditor for validation. They must validate the debt.

    2. Ask for procedures used to verify. As we all know, the cra's are lazy. They will tell us anything and expect us to buy it.

    3. Call the creditor and ask them to send you in writing when the account charged off.

    Any others?

    Thanks for the help.
I called the creditor and after going thru an uninformed clerk, she passed me on to her supervisor. Get this, the supervisor was very nice and polite and said that they would take if off next reporting cycle (beginning of each month)
    Here I come 650!!

Excellent example of how telephone calls CAN work wonders quickly, but you have to get a supervisor on the telephone, NOT the person who answered the call.

Thanks for sharing.... Glad to hear of your luck!
