Can someone please help me this Pressler & Pressler issue? They are going after wage garnishment on me and it got granted because I never recieved notice on the court date because I believe everything is being sent to the wrong address. What can I do? The judgement got granted because I never received notice of it. I was preparing to go to court and fight the judgment and the garnishment because they do not even have a signed contract by me in the file but missed the court date because I was never notified. Now they have the judgment and are going to garnish my wages and this will definitely cause me financial hardship. I am at a total loss! I have no idea what to do. Can someone please help??? Thanks

You are going to have to have some patience. Someone that knows the answer (if anyone) will answer.

How much money is the judgment for? Have you gotten a copy of the judgment from the court? That is the only way to tell if you were served properly according to your state's laws.

If you are under serious time constraints, I would suggest you get on the phone with a local attorney.

This is a strong case for outlawing default judgments.

You need to get the file from the courthouse and see if everything was done according to state law. As jlynn suggested, if time is an issue you need to see a lawyer.

    This is not making sense.

please disregard the orginal post that I wrote earlier this morning. That was before I found out that I missed the court date and that the judgment was already granted. Yes, I did check the file and half of the things were sent to the wrong address and there is no evidence supporting their claim that I owe the debt.

No evidence is needed for a default judgment.
Another reason they ought to be outlawed.
Everyone is entitled to his day in court.
