Well I received a CA letter to settle one of my accounts for 50% of the amount owed...I am in the process of disputing this item with the CRA should I wait to see if they verify or go ahead and send the check with the discolsure that is the signer signs the back of this check that he agrees to remove the negative tradeline from all 3 CRA's? That way I have a legal document protecting myself for them having to delete the tradeline. Or should I send a letter first and if they signed it saying o.k. aggreed with neg line removal with payment then send a check after I receive the letter back? Thanks

If there a significant amount of time before the offer "expires", I would wait and see if the CRA verifies. As far as that offers goes, I would suggest getting the CA to put it in writing that they will remove the neg TL if you pay. You want to have proof before parting with the cash because in some states the CA can void the endorsement agreement by crossing it out. For more info on that, search this site under username Westcap.

    Good luck either way!

Well Dispute ends March 5 and CA letter says by Feb 28, since I am overseas I have a little pull because I can say because of the mail system I didn't get it in time and they have accepted it that way before with another CA a few years ago...So I could just sit and wait it out although they will probably verify now knowing they have my address since this address is the current one on my report. So let me think on it :)

    I will let you know...thanks
