    help understanding this charge off.

    how would you read this??? how many times can they charge off an account??

    I disputed the multiple charge off dates and their reply was that these are the dates that they reported the account as a charge off.

    Call the creditor and gripe.

    That is usually pretty effective.

    "Charge off as of" means just that - as of today's date, it is being reported as a charge-off. If it was charged-off in 5/1998 and nothing has changed since then, as of today, it's still a charge-off. Looks correct.
